Origin of the One Light Project

Photography is the art of painting with light. The One Light Project is an exploration of what it means to paint with one light.

No photographs with fancy lighting and studio setups with multiple strobes, and no photographs with pure natural light either. Each photograph in this project is tied together with one commonality - the use of a single flash unit, no more, no less.

To be honest, I have no idea what direction this will go, I just find it to be a pretty excuse to force myself to play with lighting. I have always shied away from active light design, so I figured this might as well be a good time as any to start thinking and painting more with artificial light. Plus, I recently acquired a few light modifiers that will help to make this project more interesting.

It will be an ongoing project, and I hope to add at least one photograph to this collection for every shoot I do.
